Reply 1988 Review

Okay so the final episodes have not aired but i will be updating it after i see the final episode. Drama fever puts up the subbed episodes on Monday....ugh waiting and avoiding spoilers.
As of now i am a 100% #teamteak. I totally love his character..... the being said i'll list the reasons why i love his character and why i think his the husband. Are you ready because this is going to be a long one
  • Okay so i don't think that dream kiss was fake. Gawt damn it it had to be real.... it just had to be.
  • DS has alway been fond of Taek. She's always taking care of him like when she went on that trip with him for a competition and made sure he ate and also brought her own heating mat for him.
  • For the trip i just mentioned... the give away there was that it was DS that Taek's dad requested and not anyone else. Not one of the guys, not any of the dads or moms just DS.
  • JW is always hesitating ..i mean he stayed till damn near the end of freaking "Forest Gump Movie" then decided he was going to go to DS
  • While Taek on the other hand basically dropped everything even his competition to go to her.
  • Take has always liked DS. When he looks at her i swear you can see his heart and it's all DS DS DS.
  • The most important point......Taek is just so damn fine.
  • Unlike Reply 1994 where Chilbong was rich and felt entitled to NaJung while Seuragi was kinda struggling and we could clearly tell who the husband was, 1988 is very different. They both have money and they all grew up together.
  • Another give away is in episode 18 at the end when the future couple is shown and DS is telling the interviewers that her husband doesn't like interviews and we all know Taek is uncomfortable with interviews. Plus the shyness that the future husband exhibits is totally Taekesq. When has JW been in a position to give an interview??? Never....NEVER!!!
  • I just naturally love the way Taek is like i did with Seuraegi in 1994.
  • In this season the focus is mainly about family and friendships not really the romance and the relationship between Taek and DS isn't really touched on because he is barely there but when you think about it the writers are showing us all the missed opportunities JW let go of when it came to confessing to DS.
  • Another reason that leads me to believe Taek is the husband is because he told everyone he liked DS and then set up to confess to her when he returned from a competition but then he saw the picture in JW's wallet and purposely stayed behind that night just so JW could confess to DS. That scene alone he was willing to give the other guy a chance being that they are friends and he didn't want to ruin their friendship....my heart literally broke at that scene.
  • When JW confessed to DS at the end of episode 18 and then said it was a joke like dude you don't do that. If you like someone claim them damn it don't say all that shit, raise a bitch's feelings and then knock her down just because you to prove something to the rest of the group.......SMFH...That scene made me hate JW. Isi was wavering on who the husband was well that scene decided it for me........BLOOOOOOOP.
  • DS liking JW was all under peer pressure. She never really had feelings for him till her friends said he liked her and she should go for it.
Okay let's get into the series as a whole. Did i like it or naw... well let me tell you how this drama really penetrated my soul. From the comedy to the drama to the romance.....OMG..

So the cast was everything... they are EVERYTHING. As usual the mom and dad from 1997 and 1994 are back again lmao. Think they have their lives set because the parents' roles are set just for them. A surprise was Samcheong Po from Reply 1994 is playing a father in this season. I love how all three seasons flow into each other. The writers did an awesome job for the Reply series. This season focused mainly on the family relationships and the friend ships between all of them. I love the closeness of the kids with each other and the closeness between the parents. When it counted they were always there for each  other. Like when Taek's dad was in the hospital and when JW's brother had his surgery everyone was concerned and around too. When JW's mom was going through menopause and the whole neighborhood came together to eat free galbi aka celebrate her birthday and it was also when DS and her siblings gave their dad the thank you plaque. That scene was so touching (i cried).

The whole drama is very touching and stresses family relationships. I love the fact that the emotional parts were very real issues people experience and the funny part were totally worth it too.

At last i have seen the final episodes. *Drum roll please* Uri Taek is the husband. Yes yes yes yes yes like i cannot put into words how happy i am about this. JW turned out to be nice but i just didn't see him being the husband. I'm mega excited... Take is one hell of a kisser fyi and his voice is jjang. So yea the drama is done and i'll miss it. Another awesome addition to the Reply series. Some of the relationships weren't as developed like i would have liked them to be but it's okay.

Definitely recommending this drama to anyone willing to listen and the fact that the year is the one in which i was born makes it extra special to me. The only down side is that each episode is damn near two hours ...like damn i have other dramas to watch lol.
