Yoo Na's Street (Currently Airing) 2014

I never listen to my unnie when it comes to her drama recommendations and this one time i listened to her I'm so glad i did. This drama is a gem waiting to be discovered. Kind of like a Korean underground mafia meets K-Drama.
Lol they all look so bad ass in this picture
Once i started i could not stop until i was up to date with the english subbed episodes. And as of now it's still airing and only 36 eps have been subbed. I started this on a friday night and it took me about 4 days to catch up (school, work and life got in the way) could have done it in less lol.

The main actors are Lee Hee Joon who i love in Jeon Woo Chi and Kim Ok Bin who was just awesome in The Blade and the Petal. I just love both of them in this drama. The drama is 50 episodes long and i really engaging. Now it's not about any chaebols or pretty boys and girls but is about the dark

The Plot:
"Kang Yoo-na is the daughter of a pickpocket who learned the trade from her father and is already famous in her own right (with a prolific rap sheet of her very own, and three priorconvictions). After being released from prison, she works as a part-time barista at a friend's cafĂ©, but sometimes goes back to her old habits. Yoo-na shares a multiplex house with a rag-tag group of personalities, including an ex-gangster, a call girl, and a day laborer. They may not have much to boast about, but they are bright and warm people who live their daily lives to the fullest.
Things take an interesting turn when they get a new neighbor — unemployed but seemingly pure-hearted Kim Chang-man moves in. Chang-man is an aspiring social worker, and as Yoo-na gets to know the salt-of-the-earth good boy next door, he starts to change them all for the better. Residing together under the same roof, they come to understand each other and mend their past wounds".

There are a lot of familiar actors in this drama. It has t's funny moments and heart hitting scenes. For a 50 episode drama the pace is really good and the story is very captivating. I must confess i have not skipped an episode yet...... which says a lot.
The drama is doing a good job of hitting some real issues. In actual fact most of the things that go on in this drama are a reality for some people. I would attribute the going ons to other cultures and countries because in any given country there are classes  even if they are not blatanlty stated. I'm loving the drama and am constantly looking and waiting for new episodes to be subbed.
Here's one of the teasers...you'll have to do some research to get the subbed episodes because none of the major sites are subbing it. This is also a cable drama............ Enjoy.
